Flax seed

Depending on the variety, the flaxseed has a brown or yellow shell, a light nut flavor and contains about 40% fat (linseed oil). Of these, about 50% are polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acids (alpha-linolenic acid). Therefore linseed oil has the highest concentrations of omega-3 fatty acids compared to all other vegetable oils. Other important ingredients are mucous substances, linamarin, proteins, lecithin, sterols, plasohromanol, vitamins B1, B2, B6 and E as well as nicotinic, folate and pantothenic acid.
